A Senior banker with 43 years of experience in the Indian and African banking industry, Mr. Thambi, was appointed as Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director of Diamond Trust Bank Uganda Limited (DTBU) in July 2007. Prior to joining DTB, he worked with Indusind Bank for 12 years and Dhanalakshmi Bank for 19 years in various capacities.
Prior to his joining with DTB, he was Senior Vice President and Head of Retail Banking of Indusind Bank, Mumbai. He also served as Senior Vice President Inspection & Audit as well as Senior Vice President Branch Control in the same Bank
Mr. Thambi is a Graduate from St.Thomas College Thrissur and he has done his Post Graduate Diploma in Cyber Laws from NALSAR University Hyderabad.
In Uganda, Mr.Thambi is an Honorary Fellow of Uganda Institute Banking and Financial Services and served as on the Board of (UIB FS) from 2008 to 2014. He was also rated as the Best Indian CEO by India Business Forum, Uganda in 2015.
